A week of many projects

This past week, with the new month here, it was time to begin a new project. I decided, however, that just one project was not enough as there were a couple of them that I wanted to progress on.

The first of these was Armand Callis, one of the lead characters of the Saviours of Cinderfall. With Valius having been done concurrently with Xandire's Truthseekers a couple of months ago, I knew that I could get a single model from this group done beside another, larger project and with this specific mini having been preying on my mind it stood to reason to simply get it started.

I started on this mini with a majority basecoat of Leadbelcher, given that he predominantly wore Armour. This was followed by a wash of Nuln Oil and then a wash of Agrax Earthshade before drybrushing the Armour with more Leadbelcher and then, finally, Ironbreaker. This was done in order to give the Armour a worn, very industrial look apart from the Buckle, which I hope to give a more silver vibe later down the road.

After that came the application of Zandri Dust over the shirt under his armour and Abaddon Black over his Trousers and Hair, to try and mimic the 'Eavy Metal look that appears on the Citadel App. Finally, I applied Rhinox Hide on the upper part of the Boots, but have now just realised that this was an error. I will need to amend this next week.

The other project for this week was the Blood of the Bull warband from Warhammer Underworlds. Being the ninth Warband I've painted from Underworlds game, I feel I'm starting to get some confidence in how I paint them, especially when you look at what I did on Xandire's Truthseekers and Kurnoth's Heralds.

For this team, I decided to focus on one individually mini, while using the colours I applied on the other members at a close to same time.

I started with Grisk Back-Stabba, the Goblin stooger, whom I basecoated in Death Guard Green before washing in a 1:6 mix of Gunner Camo and Speedpaint Medium (because I didn't have Athoian Greenshade) before rewashing with Agrax Earthshade.

I then applied two layers of drybrushing, Death Guard Green (Drybrush) followed by Ogryn Camo before applying an edge highlight of Ogryn Camo and Screaming Skull in a 1:1 mix.
This is when the Warband's patch converged with Callis' as I then applied Leadbelcher to all the minis as I did on Callis (though on chainmail rather than suits of armour), before also applying Abbadon Black on cloth followed by Rhinox Hide on Grisk's outfit.

Finally, I decided to focus on the Chaos Dwarfs' own plate armour by painting it in Balthasar Gold, applying at least 2 to 3 thin coats in order to make sure that the paint was applied smooith.

With that, my first week of painting on these minis ended. I've already got plans on what next week will entail (primarily painting the flesh and finishing off the Armour). I just worry real life might get a little too in the way.
