Not enough troops ... but plenty of Captains

I have a question; how many captains is enough? Is there such a thing as having too many captains?

(Ok, that's actually two questions)

In the last few days (from when I wrote this), Games Workshop announced a new Captain Centos miniature to celebrate a milestone store opening (or something like that. I'll be honest, after seeing the mini, I kind of lost interest in the words that came with the image). This new Captain is both a beautiful looking mini as well as an Ultramarine, something which would work well with my Ultramarine army as well as a fun painting project.

However, while I am VERY tempted and am going to try and get a hold of a copy (ahh, this must be that FOMO I've heard so much about), I do wonder if, from an army building perspective, a purchase of Centos is a little excessive.

This is because, presently, my miniature collection, which includes an Ultramarine army of barely 2,000 points, contains four Captains; Uriel Ventris, Captain Messinius, Captain in Terminator Armour and Fafnir Rann (who is a Horus Heresy mini but I'm sure could be proxied as a regular Captain).

So, to quote an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, "We may not have plenty of troops or ships or weapons, but we have plenty of captains" (the episode is 'Shattered Mirror').

So, can you have too many captains? I mean, it probably won't matter as I will try and get a copy of this mini and I'll probably even get a Phobos Captain as well to paint to resemble Captain Acheran (so I would then have captains for the first four Ultramarine companies), but I just wondered if that was a possibility.
