Do I have too much Warhammer?

Something I've been thinking about for the last week or so has been the idea, do I have too much Warhammer?

More accurately, the question has been, have I bought the right Warhammer in the past?

I suppose, the question is more of a combination of the two.

In my house, the storage of my hobby is condensed to two IKEA Kallax boxes, one for paints, lamp, terrain, spare parts, etc and the second for both my Warhammer minis and my copy of Star Trek Away Missions. All of my minis are stored within a two tier 'cupcake transporter' (a box with a handle where the two tiers 'connect'), but after only (about) two and a half years, that 'cupcake transporter' is already nearly full. It's contents break down as 240 points of Necrons, 780 points of  Sisters of Battle and 1,700 points of Ultramarines, as well as a smattering of individual random minis (Fafnir Rann, Grombrindal, etc).

This is where both questions come into play. I do have a lot and, equally, I have painted a lot (although I do have a small unpainted pile still to get through). However, I find myself pondering if, since taking up the hobby, I have made some of the right decisions in my purchases.

For instance, my second purchase in the hobby (well, actually, it was my fourth if you include the paint set, the Getting Started magazine and then my Tactical Squad) was the 9th Edition Starter Set (along with Fafnir Rann). At the time, the purchase seemed like a good idea, with 20 additional minis to paint, along with the opportunity to play the game. However, as I've moved on, the Necron side of the box now takes up space while the Space Marines side looks rather substandard in its painting, being a constant reminder of a time when my painting was worse (although, I could argue that improvement has been negligible).

In the same vein, a large portion of my Adepta Sororitas (essentially the whole previous Combat Patrol minus the Rhino) came from the Warhammer 40k Imperium magazine. Again, these were picked up as additional minis to be able to paint and since getting them, I've also acquired the Rhino, Celestial Sacresants, Hospitallers and Retributors. However, while I do love the models (although the earlier paint jobs are, again, a bit of an eyesore), I now struggle to to figure out what to do with them as I'm unconvinced I can keep the rules for two armies in my head.

Also, I'm now unsure if 40k is small enough for my needs and wonder if I'd have been better off going for something smaller. Of course, the announcements of new editions of Kill Team and Underworlds sure doesn't help that way of thinking.

Of course, I am worrying about nothing. I could always sell everything I don't need and paint jobs can always been improved. However, this is all just something I've been thinking about.
